Not exactly the most confident way to say hello, but here it goes. This started as a personal project. There was a certain joy in learning from mistakes using custom built tools, making the whole development process incredibly rewarding. It remains a personal project at its core, but seeing so many of you find the tool useful for your own chess goals is honestly flattering. But was it really needed when Lichess exists? That is a fair question, but the answer comes down to a desire to build something purely for the love of it, exactly the way it was envisioned. Having total control over the specific features that were truly needed or might be needed in the future seemed like the obvious route to take. Plus, copying and pasting a Chess.com PGN to Lichess every single time gets tedious fast. Sometimes, it takes just enough laziness to build an entire website to avoid doing repetitive tasks. The main goal was simple: bring all those scattered chess profiles together in one place, with the click of a button.
